This tour visits the six "rooms" or locations where people can walk, sit, eat and drink while enjoying the view of passing boats and kayaks. See magnificent and iconic buildings along the way, including Merchandise Mart, site of the unique Art on the Mart display. Understand how the Riverwalk was built—and why.

    • The Riverwalk West walking tour takes you back to the reason Chicago is here—the river. As you walk along the riverwalk you experience some of the history of our second waterfront—meandering stream, industrial highway, city’s sewer system, and now a linear park with recreational, educational, entertainment options AND fabulous views of the built environment. Like the city and its residents, the riverwalk is constantly changing and full of possibilities.
